It Could Be a Lot Worse

Jeff Garcia
With the recent injury to Donavon McNabb, the Philadelphia Eagles sign Jeff Garcia out of free agency as an insurance policy in case Kevin Kolb decides to continue his streak of not throwing for a single touchdown in 3 years or if Michael Vick decides to drown/shoot/electrocute/sexually assault more dogs.

Eagles coach Andy Reid on Monday confirmed the team has signed Garcia, a 10-year veteran who played for Philadelphia in 2006 and went 6-2 in eight starts — including the playoffs—while McNabb was injured.

Garcia played well in his previous stint with the Eagles three seasons ago, throwing 11 touchdown passes against two interceptions in eight starts.”

As a San Francisco 49ers fan, I’ve always liked Jeff Garcia. Sure, his play is often sporadic, he usually can’t see over his linemen, and he talks with a slightly homoerotic lisp, but this guy has heart. I’m glad he’s got work, I think he still has some juice left in the tank. And to be fair, it’s not like the guy needs money. Or ass for that matter, we’ve all seen his wife, right?
